Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Boardwell application and website at boardwell.co (the “Service”), operated by Boardwell (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts
You must create an account to use Boardwell. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Upload malicious content or code
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications
- Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
3. Your Data
You retain ownership of all data you enter into Boardwell, including building information, meeting notes, topics, decisions, and action items. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data as necessary to operate the Service, including generating AI-powered features like meeting minutes.
4. Service Plans & Billing
Boardwell offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. The free plan includes core features for one building. The Pro plan includes additional features as described on our pricing page.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your building settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
5. AI-Generated Content
Boardwell uses AI (powered by Anthropic) to generate meeting minutes, digests, and other content. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before distributing it.
6. Email Features
Pro users receive a building email address (e.g., yourbuilding@boardwell.co). Emails sent to this address are stored and displayed within Boardwell. We may forward emails to building members based on their notification preferences. You are responsible for ensuring that people who email your building address are aware that messages may be shared with board members.
7. Building Deletion & Data Recovery
Building creators can delete a building from the settings page. Deleted buildings are soft-deleted and can be restored within 48 hours via a restore link sent to all members. After 48 hours, the restore link expires. Permanently deleted data cannot be recovered.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep Boardwell available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.
9. Limitation of Liability
Boardwell is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@boardwell.co. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Boardwell operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
